Re: Captain Marvel (2019)

Does anyone remember all of the hype and excitement for Dr. Strange before he was officially introduced. People said he was so powerful he was going to change the game. There was literally no backlash at all to how powerful he was and he hadn't even been introduced yet, they were just teasing that h...

Re: Ma (2019)

Just because you take a different role, doesn’t mean you’re going to be believable as that character. So far, she’s not threatening. Spencer also likes to roll around in the trashy playground of bad horror movies, so this won’t surprise me if it’s another dud. Eh, I think that's the point. It's sub...

Re: Ma (2019)

This looks awesome! I think it's funny how people call Octavia one note and then when she takes a role that is totally different and out there, they say she's not interesting or threatening looking. There are literally hundreds of cases of crazy women look just like her on Snapped every day.

Re: A Quiet Place (2018)

This was awesome. Krasinski really have control of the film, nothing feels unecessary or rushed. Some moments you really feels the audience holding their breath. the second half of the movie is tension non-stop. 9/10 for me. Agreed. This movie was really intense. Like, there really wasn’t a down mo...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

That first hour is pretty unfocused, but once Michael B Jordan gets to take over, the film turns into something great. Really nice to see Marvel have a really compelling villain that has substance to him. I started to actually side with his cause. The action needed some work though. Completely disa...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

387 mil. global tickets as of today, biggest movie for a black director ever. Congratulations! On the surface, I'm glad he's been given a chance to take on a big budget superhero flick, who still has to play by Marvel/Disney rules, nothing revolutionary in terms of content, especially the en...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

6.5/10 from Metacritic users and only 76% from RT users. Seems like we are going to see the same scenario for every socially progressive Disney movie these days.£ I think to insinuate that the user scores are so low is due to a backlash of it being socially progressive is inaccurate. The movie, whi...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

By the way, I don't know if this has been discussed already, but considering how each Marvel film seems to try and embody some genre or sub-genre, it felt like this took a lot from Bond. That Skyfall-eque casino scene in South Korea, the early action set pieces and car chase (at least conceptually)...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

The moment when Shuri casually called the token white man a colonizer, I was like https://media0.giphy.com/media/3o6oznE5MWL6qxwMCY/giphy.gif Shuri is my hero 😍 I kinda can’t believe Marvel let this film get made. It allows a subjugated group to express their seditious feeling which undercuts Holly...

Re: Black Panther (2018)

And again, you seem to be willing to put words I did not say into my mouth. Why would I name a single movie when I was talking about specific segments, as in elements of a mosaic that were formulaic. Might’ve said Hamlet, leave it at that. But I did not because I’ve noticed a large number of variou...
